How God has used equip in my life

Equip has helped me tremendously! It has reshaped my thinking patterns, my life choices, and life direction in so many ways! Before I was in equip, I let fear, life circumstances and my own pursuit for validation rule my life. God has radically transformed this in me. I feel freer in my relationships, knowing that I don’t have to be everything for them, but can point them to the One who is Everything for each of us. God has shown me there is true freedom in His plan for each of us! He is always bringing us to victory in Him if we choose Him instead of the much lesser things in life! Thank you Jesus for Your Everlasting love that fills all our holes with life instead of death. Thank you for Your freedom in Your death and resurrection. There truly is True Life in Your Name! Nothing can compare!!

Taking the Equip Cohort class is one of the best things I have ever done in my life. When I was thinking about doing it, I thought it would probably be way over my head. I was very wrong. Equip helped me to realize a lot of my problems were the wounds I had in my life and more important the ones I caused to a lot of people. I thought I could never forgive myself for the things I had done and the people I had hurt. We learned about the peaks and valleys that we all have had in our lives. After going through this class, working more closely with God, finding out how much He loves me and forgives me for what I have done, I feel more comfortable talking with people about Jesus and the Bible. I was always afraid I would say the wrong thing or say something dumb when talking to the kids in our youth group, but this class has really helped me. I really love the kids and am able to talk more easily with them. I highly recommend this class. It was a blessing and I can’t even tell you how much it has helped me and changed my life.

Typically, “introverted”, I could safely say that I live my life inside my mind. With that, I have always struggled with discerning my own voice, the enemy’s voice, and God’s voice. I often fought with myself through decisions, minor and significant, because -through all the mud- I couldn’t hear what God’s will as for me. I frequently stood at the doors or kicked them down without listening (or trying to listen) to God’s voice. Before I went through Equip, I would have described myself as passive and unsure in recognizing God’s will. Now that I have completed Equip, I describe myself as confident and active in seeking God’s will for my life, accepting his will, whether I like it or not, and carrying it through. I had never heard God’s voice so clear in all my Christian life and it brings an indescribable amount of peace in my heart. Through Equip I went through a process of self-discovery. During this process it was made clear how my life experiences shaped my habits (good and bad), my personality (good and bad), and my identity. I figured out what made me, me, and how God can use my trials, failures, and victories to help others find fulfillment in their own. Do not let fear of any reason hold you back from freedom. I encourage you to commit 2% of your time every other week to this journey, you will learn something-if nothing about yourself, about God.
